So I'm back at home. No more DC for me. I really miss it already (you know, except for the humidity). It was so great. I don't really know if I will be able to cope with not having the metro available anymore, but I will just have to deal (hopefully the metro goldline thingie is good - that would be nice).

I got an interview for a fall internship with the LA Phil. I am excited, but the prospect of driving to downtown LA a few days a week and not getting paid isn't all too thrilling to me.....I'm sure it would be a good experience, though. Calm down - it's just an interview.

As for life, things are good. I got to go to my favorite Mexican restaurant (El Indio) the day I got back - it was mroe wonderful than I could hav imagined - that was the only problem with DC - the Mexican food wasn't the same as in Southern California. Anyway, I haven't been to the beach yet, but I'm getting ready to head out right now. I am a little late as far as starting my summer tan is concerned, but I guess that it's better late than never, no? I will probably be the whitest one out there, but oh well.

If anyone is reading this from school, I miss you all. For those of you who are coming back - I can't wait to see you. For those of you who are really gone - you should come visit.

So it is wednesday - the dreaded "hump day" - and things aren't too bad. I am the first one at work, so I have time to screw around a bit without feeling too badly about it....hee hee.

I almost died on my way to work. I was walking from the metro station to work (only about 2 blocks away) and I made the awful decision to wear these like 4 inch wedge heels with an ankle strap - dunno what I was thinking (totally not my style - I shoulda worn flip-flops). Anyway, I was walking past this government building's parking garage entrance (as usual) and one of the guards wasn't really paying attention and his german shepherd jumped at me - ahhhhh. Now I don't think it meant to bite me or anything - it was just excited to see someone walk by - but nonetheless, I jumped about two feet and nearly fell over. I swear, my face was so red - not one of my finer moments. And can I just say that I HATE HUMIDITY - For pete's sake - all it took was walking two blocks outside for my hair to turn into a huge fluffy rat's nest.....hrmph.

As for other things, there was a really sweet thunderstorm here yesterday, so I went to bed early so I could fall asleep to the sound of it (one of my most favorite things)....mmmmm.

For those who care, I made a life-changing decision yesterday - I am going to run a vineyard someday - finally figured out what I want to do with my life and that's it! And then I find out that Sarah has been wanting to do the same thing - we are so alike, it's kinda creepy. Anyhow, we're gonna start a winery and have a lot of land and both live on it (on opposite sides so we still have privacy) - how much fun would that be? I figure, HEY, even if we make no money and are completely unsuccessful, at least we'll have wine - and what else do you really need? Think about that.

Anyway, must go do some actual work. Just want to thank Josh for the e-props - very exciting. And once I figure out how to use them, I will send you some too!

So it is sunday and I am not thrilled about heading back to work tomorrow. I got a new haircut this weekend and so that's exciting - I finally have a big girl haircut. Weeeeeeeeeee.

Anywho, the weekend was a thrill a minute - I think I went to my very first american bar. Fast Eddies - there were lots of backwoodsy Virginia folk there - an interesting lot. My cousin and I teamed up for some darts and while we cheated shamelessly, we also lost miserably....oh well. Good times had by all.

Went to two really cool gardens today, Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens and Dumbarton Oaks - both very impressive, although I must admit, the 8 foot tall pink lotuses at KAG were the most impressive things I saw.

Anywho, still miss home and the beach a lot. I really love it here, don't get me wrong, but the idea that I will only see my family for like 5 days before heading back to school is a little upsetting (especially since I have to cram some beach time in there too - sheesh!).

For now, I am off to finish up some laundry so that I have something to wear to work tomorrow - I LOVE NAFCU (okay, just trying o pump myself up to get ready for tomorrow....ahhhhhh).

So I am at work....trying to look busy whenever someone walks by (and failing miserably).

It is now nearing the end of week 8 in my DC summer adventure! I am not quite sure how to feel about it, but I know I've had a great time - it will be really hard to leave. There is nothing wuite like the view of the capitol building all lit up at night from across the Potomac.

I don't know quite why I started one of these online journal thingies - it sounded like good times. I was reading Josh's and saw all the other fun folks with sites and just couldn't resist. I noticed a very high number of folks from NORRIS ORANGE 2ND FLOOR - I think we may be a cult. Can we buy some land and set up a commune and grow some veggies and recruit people and make them cut their hair off? Please?

Okay, enough of that. For now I need to go do some work and when I have more time, I will come back and tell a few stories of my summer exploits.
